Yep, it's still winter!

... and so I got to achieve one of my photographic goals: snowflake shots! I like the way this one turned out kindof fuzzy and soft, wish I could write a haiku to go along with it... These icicles are remnants from the ice storm that seems to have spread from Oregon to New York!

Last but not least, my favorite shot from the snowflake series. If you're wondering, it's on the sleeve of my jacket...I must have looked like a real nut to the neighbors when I was taking this picture! ;)

"Let the EA-GLE soar..."

A bald eagle in Missouri???? Apparently they like to overwinter near the Missouri River, this one was spotted eating some delicious road kill on Hwy5, between Boonville and Belair. Makes me want a telephoto lense...

Nesting instinct

Isn't this nest cozy looking? You can see how small it is in the pictures below, with Rowan. These little birds are very brave to build them so close to the ground, but I suppose when there are leaves on the bushes you'd never know it was there! Thats one good thing about winter, being able to see the nests ;) Hopefully we may get some snow this weekend, I've got my fingers crossed!

Rock Bridge State Park

Boy, it's been awhile since I updated! It's kindof nice to have the holidays out of the way, and get back to "normal" haha. Here are a few shots from our latest oddysey to Rock Bridge Park. It's a beautiful place, and we got *very* lost and ended up hiking a little further than we had planned! The trails aren't very well marked unfortunately, and we weren't paying much a ttention to the few markers that we did pass so.... we ended up going on a 8 or 10 mile hike. Whew! The cool thing about this park is the rock formations: a natural stone bridge, which was closed due to a rock slide, and a cave called the Devil's Ice Box with a little stream running through it.
