Baby blues (eyes that is)

Here are a couple of shots of Willow's few waking moments. 11 pm is her prime time, just like when she was in utero. She is a really big on sleeping, I guess it's not unusual for a newborn to sleep 18 hours of the day according to my doula. I'm looking forward to the time when she can stay awake a little more though :) Her eyes are starting to look a little more brown/hazel, they are so wide and pretty! I think she has her Auntie Moe's pretty little rosebud mouth, and she definitely has my long toes and feet. She also has her grandma Carol's cheeks. Such a cutie! I'll try to post some family shots next....

Here she is!

Little Willow is here, and she is such a sweetie! By now you've probably all heard her story and how wonderfully her birth went. I'll spare you the gory birthin' details, and just say it all turned out perfectly. I can't wait till you can all see in person how adorable she is :)

Behold--the belly

Taken by Rowan, I look far more awake than I felt! I let him play with my old camera, he comes up with some funny stuff!
So here it is folks, the baby belly! Can't believe I'm already in week 31, this pregnancy is flying by! No time to bliss out this time ;) He came with us to our last prenatal visit, I was hoping he'd get to hear the baby's heartbeat, but he didn't like to hang out in that little room when all the toys were out in the waiting area! I guess he'll be meeting up with his little sib soon enough.

Baby turtle with a buddy

We saw this tiny little guy while canoeing, and if you look full size you'll see that he has a dragonfly on his back! We also saw a snake resting on a rock with the same kind of dragonfly on it's head. The float trip was alot of fun, just a touch too long for Rowan, who fell asleep leaning against the side of the canoe. But very relaxing, no white water! If you want to see more pictures from the trip, check out my Flick'r site on the sidebar, that's where I'm posting most of the wildlife shots.

Well How-deee!

Jeff's looking extra Ozark-y in this one with his five o'clock shadow and straw hat :)

Well now I can't enter a title either, hmmph oh well...
Here the boys are going on a little float trip. The nearest town to us was Steelville, and it claimed to be the Float Capitol of Missouri. That's where we found Rowan's personal sized raft, which he LOVES of course! Some kids came by with a similar one, which he commandeered, so we figured we had better buy him his own ;) He is a little leery of deep water still, ever since I took him to swimming lessons when he was supposed to be napping. He's at an age where he will remember one incident that rubs him the wrong way for a long time unfortunately. But he had alot of fun splashing around the edges, and as you can see in his raft. He did really well with camping, and actually was on a more regular schedule because of sleeping out.

We finally went camping!

Yay! We had our big chance to get away so we jumped on it :) It was raining when we left, but we crossed our fingers, hoped for the best, and headed out anyways. And what do you know, by the time we were running out of energy(Jeff hadn't gotten ANY sleep as we left at about 5am) the rain had stopped! The name of the area we were camped out was Huzzah Valley Conservation Area, and it was beautiful. The water was cool and clear, and there were no mosquitos! The cliffs were dramatic, and the weather stayed pretty much perfect until the one brief shower that came on as we were packing to go home. It was hard to come back to everyday life, but the lure of a hot shower was strong ;) Too bad our hot water had been turned off because of utility work in the neighborhood, what timing! I will have to post a few more pictures one at a time, as Blogger is being a b**** Damn you Google, everything was fine until you bought out Blogger!

Lightning bug hunter

Can you see them? Yes, it's very blurry, these are my first long exposure shots ever so I'm still getting the hang of it. The lightning bugs are out and cicadas are starting to buzz, it must be summertime!
